Yesterday's news: sickness absence, driven in large part by a surge in mental health issues, is costing the UK economy £212 billion a year.
Today's news: NHS mental health services are closing.
If someone thinks that's going to save money, they are going to be sorely disappointed.
Also, quite apart from the money, it's just utterly cruel on a human level.

That has to cover sanity towels, all toiletries, etc. Even the no food provided amount is substantially less than you get on Universal Credit for general living expenses.
