Here's the idea: This post is going first to my followers, then, if they boost it, to other people. This domain has been registered for only this experiment. I should see in my web server's logs when mastodon instances start crawling the site for info. Then maybe also some curious humans.

I might have mentioned several times that all logs will disappear in 15 days. Well, it's been 10 days, so I spent a good part of the morning trying to save the record. The apache logs was easy: made a semi-permanent copy on my desktop. #Mastodon record was more difficult. In the end I managed with the `mastodon.py` client and disabling 2FA, but boy was this a ride...

As a reminder: The latest version of Firefox opted you into their so-called privacy preserving attribution and it's up to you to opt out.
Relatedly: What alternatives are left? Firefox's multi-account containers are cookie isolation are hugely useful features for me. I suppose I could look for an un-Mozilla'd Firefox in the the same way people prefer un-Googled Chromium.

PSA: queer.af's domain has been seized by the Afghanistan NIC
the domain does not resolve anymore, this means that the website cannot be accessed anymore
(i'm going to contact the admin to help them with allowing users to login still and press "migrate" on their accounts, since i have a feeling thats still possible, as a last-gasp effort of the server)

also, is this major enough that it's worth just shutting down my instance until i patch it? or is the impact minimal on single-user instances like my own?
