Gustaf Cederström
Gustaf Olof Cederström est un peintre, né le 12 avril 1845 à Stockholm en Suède et mort le 20 août 1933 dans la même ville.
Il est connu pour Les Funérailles de Charles XII de Suède (1878) et la Bataille de Narva (1910).
Cederström s'enrôla dans l'armée et devint sous-lieutenant d'un régiment de chasseurs à pied en Värmland. Il prit des cours de dessin auprès de Ferdinand Fagerlin à Düsseldorf et de Léon Bonnat à Paris, où il se lia avec son compatriote Nils Forsberg, et décida de se consacrer entièrement à l'art pictural.
Sa création intitulée le Retour des cendres de Charles XII suscita une grande émotion en 1878, et eut plus tard les honneurs de l’Exposition universelle de Paris. Le Grand-duc Constantin en fit l'acquisition, mais à la suite d'une collecte nationale, elle fut rachetée par le Nationalmuseum de Stockholm, qui ne disposait jusqu'alors que d'une copie. Cederström se consacra intensément au concours lancé pour l’exposition de la halle aux marches de ce musée et obtint le premier prix avec Anschaire de Brême prêchant la doctrine chrétienne, bien que Carl Larsson obtînt le contrat final pour les fresques.
Outre ses scènes historiques, Cederström peignit surtout des portraits et les scènes militaires.
Membre de l’Académie royale des arts de Suède en 1878, il fut successivement professeur (1887) puis directeur (1899) des classes de l’Académie. Cederström menait la délégation suédoise lors des expositions de 1888 à Copenhague, de 1896 à Berlin et de 1901 à Munich. Il fait partie de la délégation suédoise aux fêtes du millénaire normand à Rouen en 1911.
Émile Béranger
Jean-Baptiste Antoine Emile Béranger, né à Sèvres le 31 août 1814, où il est mort le 21 mai 1883, est un peintre de genre français.
Charles Béranger est le fils d'Antoine Béranger, peintre à la manufacture de Sèvres et le frère des peintres Suzanne Estelle Apoil, née Béranger et de Charles Béranger.
Il obtient une 3e médaille en 1846.
Berthold Woltze
Berthold Woltze, né le 24 août 1829 à Havelberg et décédé le 29 novembre 1896 à Weimar au sein de l'Empire allemand, est un illustrateur et un peintre portraitiste allemand.
Berthold Woltze naît à Havelberg en 1829. Après des études d'art à Berlin, Rome et Paris, il devient peintre et se spécialise dans la réalisation de portraits et la peinture de scènes de genre. Il enseigne notamment à l'école des beaux-arts de Weimar et travaille comme illustrateur pour l'hebdomadaire Die Gartenlaube entre 1871 et 1878.
Il est le père du peintre et architecte Peter Woltze (de) (1860-1925). Il décède à Weimar en 1896.
Ces œuvres sont notamment visibles ou conservées au musée historique allemand de Berlin.

Seymour Joseph Guy
Seymour Joseph Guy (1824-1910) était un peintre américain de romances et de portraits.
Il est né et a été formé à Londres, mais s'est installé à New York, où il est connu pour ses œuvres de genre. Il se forme pendant quatre ans auprès du portraitiste Ambrosini Jerôme et épouse la fille d'un graveur, Anna Maria Barber, avant de s'installer à New York en 1854. Il est membre du Sketch club et se lie d'amitié avec John George Brown, et tous deux commencent à peindre des œuvres de genre représentant des enfants, probablement inspirés par les leurs, puisque Guy en a finalement neuf.
Il est l'un des fondateurs de l'American Watercolor Society et membre de la National Academy of Design, de l'Artists' Fund Society, de l'Artists' Mutual Aid Society et de la Century Association. Il meurt à son domicile de New York le 10 décembre 1910.
