i totally done the same thing with the hdmi port. Me and my partner wanted to watch apple tv and forgot his dongal. I was so excited when i realised!!!
that is actually really smart. I will start doing the same with the second HDMI dongle I got, connecting to my work MacBook. Let's see how many discussions on the Framework laptop that starts...
can confirm, I have done this with my DisplayPort adapter after someone had their screen break. Ended up working long enough for them to get through classes that day.
