How do you prefer meme posts to be explained if you aren't familiar with the topic?

Not at all? (probably under 500 characters)

Only the image? (may end up between 500 and 1,000 characters)

Only the image + links to further explanations? (ditto)

The image and everything needed for everyone to understand it? (probably over 10,000 characters)

Please boost/retoot/repost/renote/repeat for a larger sample size!

KnowYourMeme for memes, the Join the Fediverse wiki or code repositories for the Fediverse etc., whatever fits best.

The alternative would be to describe everything in the post itself like so. Over 10,000 characters alone for the six explanations of "One Does Not Simply" and snowclones and image macros and everything else needed to understand the meme part.

@Jupiter Rowland Yes, I love when people teach me things! I think it would be too much if someone wrote me an entire essay about it (the 500 words plus) but yes :3c
