Milton Friedman: The unions might be good for the people who are in the unions but it doesn't do a thing for the people who are unemployed. Because the union keeps down the number of jobs, it doesn't do a thing for them. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Ho Chi Minh: (C)apitalists often boast that their constitutions guarantee the rights of the individual, democratic liberties and the interests of all citizens. (But) the working people do not really enjoy democratic freedoms; they are exploited all their life wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Thomas Sankara: I hear the roar of women’s silence. I sense the rumble of their storm and the fury of their revolt. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Antony Sutton: The United States has, in spite of the Constitution and its supposed constraints, become a quasi-totalitarian state. While we do not (yet) have. the overt trappings of dictatorship, the concentration camps and the knock on the door at midnight, we most certainly do have threats and actions aimed at the survival of non-Establishment critics, use of the Internal Revenue Service to bring dissidents in line, and manipulation of the Constitution by a court system that is politically subservient to the Establishment. It is in the pecuniary interests of the international bankers to centralize political power — and this centralization can best be achieved within a collectivist society, such as socialist Russia, national socialist Germany, or a Fabian socialist United States. There can be no full understanding and appreciation of twentieth-century American politics and foreign policy without the realization that this financial elite effectively monopolizes Washington policy. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Antony Sutton: The center of political power, as authorized by the U.S. Constitution, is with an elected Congress and an elected President, working within the framework and under the constraints of a Constitution, as interpreted by an unbiased Supreme Court. We have in the past assumed that political power is consequently carefully exercised by the Executive and legislative branch, after due deliberation and assessment of the wishes of the electorate. In fact, nothing could be further from this assumption. The electorate has long suspected, but now knows, that political promises are worth nothing. Lies are the order of the day for policy implementors. Wars are started (and stopped) with no shred of coherent explanation. Political words have never matched political deeds. Why not? Apparently because the center of political power has been elsewhere than with elected and presumably responsive representatives in Washington, and this power elite has its own objectives, which are inconsistent with those of the public at large. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Antony Sutton: For most of the twentieth century the Federal Reserve System, particularly the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (which is outside the control of Congress, unaudited and uncontrolled, with the power to print money and create credit at will), has exercised a virtual monopoly over the direction of the American economy. In foreign affairs the Council on Foreign Relations, superficially an innocent forum for academics, businessmen, and politicians, contains within its shell, perhaps unknown to many of its members, a power center that unilaterally determines U.S. foreign policy. The major objective of this submerged — and obviously subversive — foreign. policy is the acquisition of markets and economic power (profits, if you will), for a small group of giant multi-nationals under the virtual control of a few banking investment houses and controlling families. Through foundations controlled by this elite, research by compliant and spineless academics, "conservatives" as well as "liberals," has been directed into channels useful for the objectives of the elite essentially to maintain this subversive and unconstitutional power apparatus. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Antony Sutton: The total result of this manipulation of society by the Establishment elite has been four major wars in sixty years, a crippling national debt, abandonment of the Constitution, suppression of freedom and opportunity, and creation of a vast credibility gulf between the man in the street and Washington, D.C. While the transparent device of two major parties trumpeting artificial differences, circus-like conventions, and the cliche of "bipartisan foreign policy" no longer carries credibility, and the financial elite itself recognizes that its policies lack public acceptance, it is obviously prepared to go it alone without even nominal public support. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Antony Sutton: Since World War II we have seen the Korean War and the Vietnamese War — meaningless, meandering no-win wars costly in dollars and lives, with no other major purpose but to generate multibillion-dollar armaments contracts. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Santiago Ramón y Cajal: All outstanding work, in art as well as in science, results from immense zeal applied to a great idea. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Thomas Sankara: In these tempestuous times, we cannot leave our enemies of the past and the present the monopoly on thought, imagination, and creativity. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Mao Zedong: There are innumerable principles of Marxism, but in the final analysis they can be summed up in one sentence: 'To rebel is justified.' For thousands of years everyone said, 'Oppression is justified, exploitation is justified, rebellion is not justified.' From the time that Marxism appeared on the scene, this old judgment was turned upside down, and this is a great contribution. This principle was derived by the proletariat from its struggles, but Marx drew the conclusion. In accordance with this principle, there was then resistance, there was struggle, and socialism was realized. What is Comrade Stalin's contribution? He developed this principle, developed Marxism-Leninism, and produced a very clear, concrete, and living doctrine for the oppressed people of the whole world. This is the complete doctrine for establishing a revolutionary front, overthrowing imperialism, overthrowing capitalism, and establishing a socialist society. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Sydney J. Harris: History repeats itself, but in such cunning disguise that we never detect the resemblance until the damage is done. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Milton Friedman: We economists don't know much, but we do know how to create a shortage. If you want to create a shortage of tomatoes, for example, just pass a law that retailers can't sell tomatoes for more than two cents per pound. Instantly you'll have a tomato shortage. It's the same with oil or gas. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Milton Friedman: We do not influence the course of events by persuading people that we are right when we make what they regard as radical proposals. Rather, we exert influence by keeping options available when something has to be done at a time of crisis. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Milton Friedman: I’m in favor of legalizing drugs. According to my values system, if people want to kill themselves, they have every right to do so. Most of the harm that comes from drugs is because they are illegal. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Abraham Lincoln: You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Lenin: If the state is the product of class antagonisms that stands above society while ‘alienating itself more and more from it’, liberation of the oppressed is impossible without destruction of the apparatus of state power which was created to embody alienation. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Cheng Enfu: Peaceful means should be the first choice, and permanent peace is the ideal goal pursued by progressive human beings. In the area of international relations, we need to create a 'New Internationalist' school of Marxism. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Tulsi Gabbard: I can no longer remain in today's Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoke anti-white racism, actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms, are hostile to people of faith & spirituality, demonize the police & protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans, believe in open borders, weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents, and above all, dragging us ever closer to nuclear war. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

James Connolly: Socialism bases itself upon its knowledge of facts, of economic truths, and leaves the building up of religious ideals or faiths to the public. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Lenin: A democratic republic is the best possible political shell for capitalism, and once capital has gained possession of this shell, it establishes power so securely that no change of persons, institutions, or parties in the bourgeois-democratic republic can shake it. wordsmith.social/protestation/…

Thomas Sankara: The revolution and women's liberation go together. We do not talk of women's emancipation as an act of charity or because of a surge of human compassion. It is a basic necessity for the triumph of the revolution. Women hold up the other half of the sky. wordsmith.social/protestation/…
